Capt Amarinder should take responsibility for negligence in sacrilege case probe, says MLA Pargat (Watch Video)
Chandigarh, April 28, 2021: Being a home minister, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh should take responsibility for the negligence in the investigation in the Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan firing case and holy book sacrilege incidents. He said the home minister is answerable for the lack of justice. Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh made this remark on Wednesday during a press conference after meeting with Punjab CM.
“We have to face the reality that even in four years, we have not reached anywhere in the case. I only believe that justice needs to be served. Rather than targettting each other, we should focus in the matter at hand. People had voted for Congress in the name of Capt Amarinder in 2017 with many hopes and expectations but they have not been fulfilled,” he said.
Hinting lack of integrity within the party, he said “Even in the democracy, there is no internal democracy. With interest to 2022 assembly elections, I have written also written a letter to Punjab CM on this issue. We are answerable to the public. When MLA goes in public, they are being questions by the public on this issue. How should the ministers defend the government?,” Pargat Singh.
He said that there is a need for all party MLAs to do the introspection and to find out the root cause of the issue.
He also sided with senior leader Navjot Singh Sidhu and said that he should be not targeted in the matter stating that the latter is right for demanding justice.
