Case registered against District President AAP and 16 others for violating COVID-19 norms
Ferozepur, May 4, 2021: In a crackdown against those violating Covid guidelines, the Makhu police had registered a case against, as many as, 17 persons including AAP District President Naresh Kataria and 25-30 unidentified persons.
At the start of May, the Aam Aadmi Party has also launched its campaign for burning the electricity bills in protest against the high power tariff rates and demanding waive of three months bills due to lockdown which has taken the people at the foot back due to no business.
Naresh Kataria and others have sat on dharna on the National Highway-95 Zira Hari ke Road disrupting the traffic. Earlier, they had put up dharna in front of the police station Makhu and then shifted to National High Way. Despite giving a warning through a speaker to lift the dharna within ten minutes, they did not and also did not follow the guidelines of the government on Covid.
Meanwhile, a case under Sections 341, 282, 434, 188, 269 IP, National Highway Act 1956, 51-B Disaster Management Act 2005 and 3 Epidemic Disease Act 1897. However, no arrest was made in this case and Jaswinder Singh has been appointed as IO to investigate the matter.
