Chandigarh extends Corona curfew; more restrictions imposed
Restrictions for wedding and funeral gathering changed

Chandigarh, May 10, 2021, In the light of rising COVID-19 cases in Chandigarh, the UT Chandigarh Administration has decided to extend the Corona curfew for another week. Earlier the curfew was imposed for a week from May 3 to May 10.
The non-essential shop will continue to remain closed during the curfew. The night curfew from 06:00 PM to 05:00 AM will be implemented. Day time movement will be allowed. However, the residents have been advised to avoid non-essential travel. Morning walkers will be allowed from 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM. Sukhna lake will also remain closed.
Earlier also, the curfew was imposed for a week - from May 3 to May 10
The decision on the same was taken during the war room meeting on the COVID situation headed by UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore. Along with the extending curfew, the administration has imposed several other curbs.
The administration has also restricted the gathering in marriages and funerals. The maximum number of guests allowed in marriage events has been limited to 20 persons in marriage for which written permission from Deputy Commissioner will be needed. For the funeral, the number has been restricted to 10. No separate permission will be required.
Badnore stressed on need of an audit of each health facility
During the meeting, UT Administrator Badnore stressed that there should be an audit of each fatality so that the line of medical treatment could be improved and lapses, if any, could be rectified.
On Monday, Badnore also inaugurated a temporary COVID hospital in Sector 45, where an existing dispensary has been converted into a full-fledged COVID hospital. He directed that adequate arrangements for medicine, oxygen, equipment should be ensured at all times.
