80 Covid patients getting food at their door-steps
MLA Pinki lauds ‘Covid Kitchen’ run by Ferozepur Foundation
Ferozepur, May 27, 2021: ‘Covid Kitchen’ being run by Ferozepur Foundation in collaboration with Amit Foundation – a leading NGOs of this border town – was inspected by Parminder Singh Pinki, MLA on Thursday morning by paying surprise visit and appreciated their services of providing food to the Covid patients at their door steps.
Pinki MLA, appreciating the infrastructure of the kitchen with every precaution of hygienic conditions in preparation of nutritious food for the Covid patients, said the members of the foundation are really doing a great job. He said that in this hour of crisis, providing this food facility to the patient's house to boost their immunity and early recovery, by the members is really a service to humanity. He also assured that he would also provide assistance to the foundation so that such service work would continue to be done by social service organizations in the coming time also.
Shailendra Kumar Shaili founder member informed that he has so far provided food to more than 600 Covid patients and considering the increasing number of Covid patients in the district, lunch and dinner including almonds, are being given to 80 people daily, after consulting the doctors, as per the health condition of the patient. Volunteers of the organization take food from the kitchen and put the packed food at the door step of the patients.
Jimmy Kakkar another active member informed that for the last two years, food is being distributed in the morning and evening in the Civil Hospital by the organization. Last year, during curfew and lockdown, food to thousands of needy people was provided every day. He said that the sole objective of the foundation is to ensure that no one goes to bed hungry.
