Disinfectant to be Sprayed at All Public Places, Vegetable Market and other Chaotic Places-Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu

Former Union Minister and Member Lok Sabha Mrs. Preneet Kaur on Tuesday dispatched a special tractor based spray tanker provided by Johal Farm Ghurka (Goraya) to disinfect the Patiala city. She was accompanied by Sanjeev Sharma Bittu, Mayor, and Punamdeep Kaur, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala.
While launching the spray tanker (disinfectant solution), Preneet Kaur, especially, expressed gratitude to the NRIs Rajwinder Singh from Switzerland (Convener, Indian Overseas Congress, Europe) and Pindu Johal from UK, for providing these social services across the state, supporting the Punjab Government's initiative to contain the spread of COVID in rural and urban areas under Mission Fateh 2.0. She said that it was very important to sanitize the residential, public and other areas having public activity to prevent the spread of Coronavirus, for which the tractor equipped spray machine would serve the purpose diligently, in the city.
Patiala MP said that Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh under Mission Fateh-2.0 has taken all possible steps to protect the people from the infection of COVID pandemic. She said that the people of Punjab, infected with the virus have been provided all possible help including medical oxygen, treatment facilities and other mandatory facilities for treatment and getting them vaccinated. The vaccination drive is in full swing too. Apart from this, special assistance schemes have also been launched for the help of needy and poor, facing this tough time.
Mayor Sanjeev Sharma said that a disinfectant machine of the Municipal Corporation was already engaged in sanitizing the containment areas and disinfecting cremation grounds where COVID deceased' last rites performed. Sharma said that this machine sent by Johal Farm Ghurka, would be used to disinfect the area by spraying it wherever it is needed including vegetable markets, other chaotic markets etc.
Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Biba Jai inder Kaur, State Information Commissioner, Amrit Pratap Singh (Honey) Sekhon, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Poonamdeep Kaur, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rajesh Sharma, Private Secretary to MP, Balwinder Singh. Sanitization team volunteers Anoop Kaushal Rinku, Shanty Hundal, Monu Ghurka, Ninder, Pindar Ghurka and Gurmeet Singh, said that this disinfectant tanker has a one-time capacity of 7500 litres that can be used to disinfect the areas as per the suggestion of MC officials.
