Barnala: Farmers stage dharna against BJP leader Harjeet Grewal
Barnala, Punjab, July 11, 2021: Farmers gathered under the banner of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) at Barnala held a dharna protest and press conference at Dhanola and strongly denounced the alleged foul language used by BJP leader Harjeet Grewal against farmers.
“The BJP and its leaders have lost social connect and relevance and in their utter frustration, they are abusing farmers who have already had a moral and social victory against BJP leaders, who cannot even visit their own localities. The truth about the anti-people anti-farmer nature of BJP has been exposed,” said the protesting farmers.
The Kisan Morcha continues to protest against BJP leaders in Rajasthan and Haryana for attempting to tarnish the image of farmer leaders.
At Ganganagar, Rajasthan, BJP MLA Pyarelal with party workers tried to disrupt the peaceful protest of farmers against Suratgarh MLA Rampratap Kasniyan who had used abusive language against farmers. The farmers announced that the dharna protest shall be held at the house of Rampratap Kasniyan.
Similarly, BJP MLA Vinita Ahuja was also denounced as she was trying to provoke farmers to cause an untoward incident but the farmers were restrained and did not permit the conspiracy to succeed.
The warning was issued to the MLA that protests would also be held at her constituency and farmers would display black flags against her wherever she went.
Black Flags were shown to Sunita Duggal, BJP MP of Sirsa at Fatehabad, Haryana, where she had come to attend meetings. A large gathering of farmers registered a strong protest against the MP in continuation of the decision to peacefully boycott all BJP leaders.
A team of farmers organization Progressive Farmers Front hoisted the farmers union flag in Kargil and Ladakh. Samyukta Kisan Morcha and its constituent organizations are working hard every day to ensure that the farmers' protest reaches even the most remote corner of the country.
A huge contingent of farmers under the banner of SKM arrived from Sonipat, Haryana at the Gazipur border today. The hundreds of farmers in the contingent arrived to lend numerical, physical, and moral support to the farmers at the Gazipur border.
“With the arrival of this contingent, SKM is sending a message to the BJP and its goons who had attempted hooliganism and attacked the farmers camp at Gazipur a few days ago - the message is loud and clear - farmers are united and will remain united and if any attempt is made to break up the protest by using strength, more and more farmers shall join the protest from all over the country,” SKM stated.
