Popular artistes Babbu Maan, Amitoj Mann, Gul Panag & others extend their support to Kisan Morcha at Singhu Border
Contingents from 22 States to Participate in SKM's Call for Protest at Parliament March from July 22
Singhu Border (Delhi), July 15, 2021:
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha’s (SKM) stated that their call for protest at Parliament March from 22nd July till 13th August has received overwhelming and enthusiastic response from across the country. Confirmation has been received that large contingents of farmers from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Tripura, Manipur, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan will participate, in addition to farmers from Punjab and Haryana. Special Marches by Woman Farmers on 26th July and 9th August shall also see participation of a large contingent of women farmers and leaders from across India including North-Eastern States. The Parliamentarians shall see farmers from all over India march in a disciplined manner to Parliament to place their demands and have their voices heard, said the SKM in its statement.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha condemned the arrest of farmers Balkor Singh, Nika Singh, Daljeet and Mandeep from village Faggu by Sirsa Police on false and cooked-up charges and the shocking charge of sedition slapped on them. In the backdrop of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court today expressing disapproval of use of the colonial era repressive law of sedition in post-independent India, the action of the police is indeed reprehensible. Under instruction of the BJP Government of Haryana, the police are committing grave illegalities and unconstitutional acts, which are denounced by SKM. All arrested farmers shall given full legal support by SKM and the matter may even be taken to the Supreme Court for appropriate relief and punishment of the delinquent BJP Govt. It appears that the BJP Govt of Haryana is hell bent on attacking the peaceful farmers’ movement and creating an atmosphere of confrontation and terror. SKM shall resolutely resist all such attempts and continue with the peaceful protests till the demands of the farmers are met.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha extends gratitude to popular Punjabi artists Babbu Maan, Amitoj Mann, Gul Panag and other who performed for an ecstatic audience of farmers and local people at Singhu Border on Thursday. The artistes extended their full support to the Farmer's Movement and also appealed to all citizens to stand in support of the farmers and extend their solidarity to the farmers’ movement. It is noteworthy that all sections of people of the country are coming out in support of the farmers and it is unfortunate that the Union Government led by PM Modi is unable to do justice to the farmers and stand with the farmers, the food security warriors of the nation.
