MP Bajwa raises questions in Parliament over promotion of Cooperative Farming
New Delhi, July 24, 2021: Amid the ongoing monsoon session of the Parliament, Congress MP Partap Singh Bajwa raised questions over the Promotion of Cooperative Farming in India.
As the farmer's agitation against three farm bills continues, issues related to farmers' welfare remain the major topic of the ongoing monsoon session.
Bajwa has questioned the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare headed by Narendra Singh Tomar to share the state-wide data including Punjab for landholdings in hectares of each farmer household.
He further the Ministry of whether or not they have an action plan to promote cooperative farmers to make farming financially viable.
Bajwa asked the Ministry to provide details including the manner in which the plan aims to tackle shortcomings in the previous cooperative farming plans such as corruption, poor governance, and capital shortages.
Senior Congress leader further asked the Ministry about the steps taken to promote Cooperative farming and also the state-wise date for the funds released for the same.
