Prof Chandumajra visits Middukhera family, assures family party will ensure justice to it
Says Vicky Middukhera killing was a targeted killing, slams law and order situation in the State
Mohali, August 7, 2021:
Former MP and senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra today visited the residence of former Student Organization of India (SOI) President Vicky Middukhera who was shot dead in broad day light in the city today and expressed his condolences with the bereaved family.
Speaking to newsmen on the occasion, Prof Chandumajra said “it is clear from the cctv coverage that this was a targeted killing and that the killers had been assigned the job of eliminating Middukhera”. He said it was shocking that the killers were so brazen that they indulged in this dastardly act in full public view in a busy area. “This is a reflection on the law and order situation in the State”, he said adding Punjab had descended into jungle raj during Congress rule.
Demanding a high level probe into the entire case, Prof Chandumajra said gangsters seemed to have taken over the State even as chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh remained cocooned in his farm house. He said this was the reason why repeated targeted killings were taking place in Punjab with the Middukhera shoot out being the third such killing in one week alone.
Prof Chandumajra also talked to the Mohali SSP on the occasion and asked him to take all necessary steps to nab the culprits and bring them to book. He also condemned the police for showing laxity in policing the city, saying the very fact that gangsters were moving at will in the city was an indictment of the Mohali police and its policing system.
The SAD leader while conveying his condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the party as well as its President Sukhbir Singh Badal, said the party would do its utmost to ensure justice in the case. He also assured the Middukhera family that the party was with it in its hour of grief.
