KMSC threatens ‘Pacca Morcha’ from Sept 12, demands compensation for Delhi Morcha victims
Ferozepur, September 9, 2021: Hundreds of farmers and labourers today started sit-in dharna in front of the office of SDM Guruharsahai and took the march to the residence of Rana Sodhi, Cabinet Minister for Sports demanding compensation of Rs.5 lac for Delhi Morcha victims, government job and waiving off of entire loan of three farmers. They also threatened for 'Pacca Morcha' from Sept 12 in case their demands are not accepted.
Addressing the protesters, State President, Satnam Singh Pannu along with Rana Ranbir Singh Thatha, Dharam Singh Sidhu, Boota Singh Karikalan, Narinder Pal Singh Jatala said, today protest is to provide Rs.5 lac each to the families of Delhi Morcha victims’ families of Jarnail Singh Piply Chak, Mehal Singh Sharinwala, Luvpreet Singh Swaike besides job to one family member and waiving off the loan. They said, in case there is dilly-dallying attitude of the government, there will be permanent morcha on Ferozepur-Fazilka road on September 12.
Added here, Farmers have been protesting on different borders of the national capital since November 26 against the three newly enacted farm laws - Farmers' Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Act, 2020, and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
The other demands put forth today were – waiving off of entire loan amount of farmers, compensation of Rs.10,000 per acre pending for the lands across the fencing wire near Indo-Pak, enhancing the moisture for paddy crop to 22 percent, permanent ownership of land, cancellation of agreements with the corporate houses.
