Ensure improvement in emergency ward in Civil Hospital within one month: Chander Gaind

SANGRUR, SEPTEMBER 14, 2021: Divisional Commissioner Patiala Division Chander Gaind has asked health authorities to ensure restoration at Civil Hospital, Sangroor within one month so that the hospital is ready to tackle the third wave of Covid-19 virus effectively. While taking stock of the availability of healthcare facilities at emergency and Covid care wards in the civil hospital, Mr. Gaind pulled up officials for poor sanitary conditions. He directed the civil surgeon to ramp up infrastructure in the hospital as per the guidelines of the state government as he would again visit the hospital after a period of one month.
He also visited the oxygen generation plant, drug de-addiction center, and sewage treatment plant, where he directed officials to ensure round the clock functioning of these plants. Terming OOAT clinics a revolutionary step of the Captain government, Mr. Gaind said that these clinics have proved to be a boon for the drug-addicts as a large number of drug-affected people have been taking treatment at these centers across the state.
The Divisional Commissioner accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sangroor Ramveer, further reviewed the pace of development projects in Sangrur district being carried out by the district administration and directed the officials to ensure completion of ongoing projects within stipulated time-frame. He took stock of various projects including construction of model playgrounds, plantation in villages, Ghar-Ghar Rozgar and Karobar Mission, Educational schemes, and others. He also reviewed the implementation of the state government's vaccination program in the district and asked officials to ensure maximum immunization of people as expressed satisfaction over the daily availability of 20,000 doses of vaccine in the district.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Ramveer apprised the Divisional Commissioner that the district administration has already made elaborate arrangements to tackle the possible third wave in the district. He also mentioned that all the ongoing projects would be completed within the given timeline as direction in this regard were already passed to authorities.
