Chandigarh, November 22, 2021: Former senior officers of IAS, IPS, Army, and Provincial Services, who have been associated with Kisan Andolan through Kirti Kisan Forum held a special meeting in Chandigarh today where they congratulated the farmers' organizations regarding the proposed repealing of the 3 farm laws as announced by the PM Narendra Modi.
“Not to indulge in any political activity was a wise decision of the Punjab based Kisan Unions when they were engaged in the Kisan Andolan, but after scoring a first victory about the proposed withdrawal of the three farm laws by the Prime Minister, the expectations of people from leaders of Kisan Andolan have gone up manyfold. People of Punjab for long are in search of a political alternative of Governance”, said Forum in a resolution passed at the meeting.
At the meeting, it was opined that Kisan Unions should take part in the political process given the forthcoming Vidhan Sabha elections in the state.
