Ferozepur: Police conduct ‘Flag March’ ahead of polls
Ferozepur, February 4, 2022: As part of the confidence-building measures among voters and to warn anti-social elements against disrupting law and order, ahead of Punjab Assembly polls on February 20, the Punjab police and para-military forces personnel, conducted a flag march in Ferozepur on Friday under the tutelage of Girish Dayalan, Deputy Commissioner and Narendra Bhargava, SSP.
The flag march is a morale booster for residents so that they may not feel unprotected and feel the cooperation and support of the administration as well as the police at this critical juncture
District Election Officer-cum-DC, Girish Dayalan said that the flag march was taken out, in various parts of the city, in view of holding free and fair elections. Anyone can use their vote as they wish without any fear. All arrangements are being made to conduct the elections in a fair manner. He appealed to the people of the district to use their vote without any fear and contribute to the strengthening of democracy through voting.
SSP Narendra Bhargav said that this flag march by Punjab police and para-military force personnel has been taken out as per the instructions of the Election Commission. He said that the message conveyed through this flag march was that no one should have any fear in his mind. The security forces are fully prepared for the safety of all. People can exercise their vote without any fear or pressure. He also appealed to all eligible voters to exercise their right to franchise without any fear.
