Chandigarh, February 12, 2022: Condemning the bail granted to Ashish Mishra in the Lakhimpur Khira case, Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) leader Dr.Darshan Pal announced that the farmer union will hold protest rallies during PM Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to Punjab.
PM Modi is scheduled to hold rallies in Punjab on February 14, 16, and 17.
Addressing a virtual meeting on Saturday, Dr. Darshan Pal slammed the government and the police administration for harassing the farmers who were protesting on the road during the last visit of PM.
"The rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be opposed to his arrival in Punjab. However, the protests would be peaceful," Dr. Darshal Pal said.
The farmer leader however added that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the timely implementation of the agreed demands then the protests could have been averted.
"The Shiromani Akal Dal-United should be taught a lesson along with the BJP and should be boycotted by the people of Punjab," he added.
The farmer leaders representing various outfits announced that the effigies of the Prime Minister and the Union Government will be blown up in the villages on the 14th and on February 16.
The farmers will gather at the tehsil level to blow up the ‘dooms’ of the Prime Minister and the Union Government in protest.
In the area where the rally will be held, black flags will be displayed by the farmers along the roadsides.
