104-year-old woman cast her vote using postal in village Nurpur
A PwD couple also cast their vote from home at village Hedon Bet: RO-cum-SDM Vikramjit Singh Panthey

Samrala (Ludhiana), February 14, 2022: As per the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), postal ballot papers of voters above 80 years of age and persons with disability (PwD) were to be cast through door-to-door voting.
In this regard today, under the supervision of Vikramjit Singh Panthey, Returning Officer-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Samrala, a total of 10 teams were formed in Vidhan Sabha constituency 58-Samrala for PwD voters and voters above 80 years of age.
He informed that as per the directions of ECI, teams comprising sector officers, BLOs, micro observers, videographers, and police personnel, visited different areas of the constituency so that people can cast their vote in a free and fair manner through postal ballots. The whole process was carried out in a very transparent manner.
Vikramjit Singh Panthey informed that a 104-year-old voter named Ram Kaur, wife of Kartar Singh, a resident of village Nurpur in Samrala constituency used the postal ballot to cast her vote today.
The SDM personally visited her house and motivated her about the importance of voting. He also urged all voters of the 58-Samrala constituency to cast their votes in a free and fair manner on February 20, 2022.
He further informed that he also visited village Hedon Bet of the constituency, where a PwD couple named Ram Kumar, son of Naseeb Chand, and his wife Neetu Rani also cast their vote using the postal ballot.
