Corbevax is completely safe for children: Dr.Arora
Under COVID Vaccination Campaign, health deptt to give priority to children
Ferozepur, March 25, 2022: With the children back in classes, on playgrounds, and at birthday parties – as effective herd immunity will require pediatric vaccination - which are essential elements of the normal world, the health department has now fixed the priority of children under its COVID Vaccination Campaign.
To have complete control over the deadliest disease COVID-19, the vaccination programme is continuously going on in the country for different categories from time to time and now Corbevax vaccine is a priority of children.
The Corbevax vaccine which has become the third Covid vaccine to be approved for children in India is administered through an intramuscular route with two doses scheduled 28 days apart and is stored at 2 to 8 degrees’ Celsius temperature. In India, as of now, 43,016,372 have been affected with Coronavirus infection, with 5,16,785 deaths and with the recovery of 42,478,087.
Divulging with details, Dr.Rajinder Arora, Civil Surgeon said, under the Covid Vaccination Campaign, the Corbevax vaccine has been started from March 16 for children of the age of 12 to 14 years, which is a safe vaccination for children.
He said, after the adult vaccination, around 65 population of the age of 15 to 18 years have been completed in the district and now priority over 12-14 years to save this category of children from the danger of COVID-19 infection.
As per the latest report, 1,136 children of 12 to 14 years, 39,450 of 15 to 18 years, have been given the Covid vaccination. Whereas in the district, 12,44,739 have been vaccinated with first and second doses of all age groups which include HCW, Frontline workers, Lacing mothers, pregnant women, and precautions dose.
Making an appeal to parents of kids and teachers, Dr.Arora said, the Corbevax vaccine is completely safe for children.
