Ferozepur, September 28, 2023: Remembering Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh – a symbol of India’s relentless fight for justice and liberty, on Thursday, Kulbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Urban, Rajneesh Dahiya, MLA Ferozepur Rural, Fouja Singh Sarari, MLA Guruharsahai and Naresh Kataria, MLA Zira all the four MLAs of the district, Deputy Commissioner, Sr.Supdt of Police paid tributes to freedom fighter Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh on his 116th birth anniversary at National Martyrs’ Memorial at Hussainiwala. Every year on September 28 across Punjab, Bhagat Singh's birthday is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm.
Remembering Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary, they said that we should follow the path of our revolutionary martyrs and build an India with their thinking. He said that the Chief Minister of Punjab. Bhagwant Singh Maan is designing various programs in Punjab based on the thought of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, which are benefiting the people of Punjab. He said that on this day for the martyrs, various social service organizations, schools and colleges are celebrating patriotism and Various programs dedicated to Bhagat Singh have been planned and students of different schools arrived at Hussainiwala today and offered flowers of devotion to martyrs.
Apart from this, a bicycle rally dedicated to the national martyrs was taken out by the students of Government Senior Secondary Smart School Gatti Rajo Ke to Hussainiwala.
DC informed that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, as a tribute to him, the revolutionary play "Basanti Chola" was organized by the Northern Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, which was presented by the eminent dramatist of Theatre Rangmanch, Kewal Dhaliwal, writer and director.
He appealed to the youth of the district that the freedom we are enjoying today has been achieved only because of the sacrifices of our martyrs, so we should work hard to make the dreams of martyr Bhagat Singh come true and follow the paths shown by him. He also asked the youths not to fall into the menace of drugs rather shine the name of their country by getting a good name in studies and sports.
On this occasion ADC Gagandeep Singh, SDM Gurmander Singh, Tehsildar Ferozepur Pardeep Kumar, Secretary Red Cross Ashok Behal, Balraj Singh Katora Chairman Market Committee Ferozepur City, BDPO. Kirandeep Kaur, Principal Dr. Satinder Singh, Robi Sandhu, Himansu Thakkar, Raj Bahadur Singh Gill, Gurbhaj Singh, officers of other departments were also present.
