Mohali: F&CC Committee nods 47 development agendas worth 4.45 crore

Mohali, November 29, 2023 - In a recent meeting of the Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC), headed under the leadership of Mayor Amarjeet Singh Sidhu granted approval for 47 crucial agenda items worth over 4.45 crore, addressing various facets of public welfare and urban development. The diverse range of initiatives underscores Mayor Sidhu's commitment to enhancing the overall quality of life in Mohali.
One of the notable approvals was for the establishment of a 'Waste to Wonderpark' at a cost of Rs. 25 lakh. This innovative project not only addresses waste management but also promises to transform unused spaces into recreational havens for the community.
In an effort to promote sports and active lifestyles, Mayor Sidhu announced the construction of five new basketball courts across the city. This initiative aligns with the broader vision of creating a healthier and cleaner Mohali.
The F&CC meeting also saw discussions on the improvement of key roads, with an estimated investment of Rs. 84 lakh. This investment underscores the city's commitment to enhancing infrastructure for the benefit of its residents.
Additionally, Mayor Sidhu emphasized the need for a focus on public health, as evidenced by the approval for the construction of a boundary wall, including earth filling, footpath, etc., at the Water Treatment Plant in Sector 56, Phase-6, S.A.S Nagar, with an estimated cost of Rs. 32.61 lakhs including patch work worth over 50 lakh.
"The approved projects reflect our dedication to fostering sustainable development, ensuring public health, and providing recreational spaces for residents. We are committed to creating a Mohali that is not only progressive but also environmentally conscious and socially vibrant," remarked Mayor Amarjeet Singh Sidhu.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including MC Commissioner Navjot Kaur, Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi, councillors, and senior MC officers.
With a vision for a cleaner and healthier Mohali, Mayor Sidhu also announced plans for a upgraded community centre in Ward No. 10, further enhancing the social infrastructure of the city.
The Mayor expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders and reiterated the city's commitment to holistic development. The initiatives approved in the F&CC meeting underscore Mohali's dedication to becoming a model city that prioritizes the well-being and prosperity of its residents.
The Mayor passed many new development works which included installation of new Sewar line and repair of damaged Sewar lines,potholes and repair of all industrial area roads which comes under municipal corporation mohali.
