Chandigarh, May 22, 2024- 18th Lok Sabha general elections, voting is scheduled for all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, including Amba La (SC-SC reserved) Lok Sabha seat on May 25.
High Court advocate and election analyst Hemant Kumar said that on January 22, 2024, when the voter lists in all the 90 assembly constituencies of Haryana were published, the total number of voters of 9 assembly constituencies falling under the Ambala Lok Sabha seat was 19 lakh 78 thousand 278. Thus, in the last four months, the number of voters in the Ambala Lok Sabha seat has increased by 25 thousand 232.
Hemant said that although the number of voters has increased in the 8 assembly seats falling in Ambala Lok Sabha seat in the last four months, but the Narayangarh assembly constituency of Ambala district, which is also the home constituency of the current Chief Minister of the state, Nayab Singh Saini has witnessed a decrease of 719 voters in the last four months.
"Naib Saini is originally from Narayangarh from Mirzapur village of the constituency. According to the official data released in January 2024, the total voters in the constituency were 1 lakh 92 thousand 887, of which 1 lakh 1 thousand 553 were male voters, while 90 thousand 91 were female voters and 8 were transgender voters. The number of disabled voters was 1155 while overseas (NRI) voters were 4 and service voters were 1235. According to the latest data released on 6th May 2024, Narayangarh, there are a total of 1 lakh 92 thousand 168 voters in the constituency, of which 1 lakh 924 are male voters while 90 thousand 23 are female voters and 10 are transgender voters. The number of disabled voters is 1184 while overseas (NRI) voters are 4 and 1211 are service voters," said Hemant Kumar.
Hemant said that thus, there are currently 8 lakh 76 thousand 578 voters in the four assembly constituencies of Ambala district, which was 8 lakh 69 thousand 779 in January 2024, whereas
There were 9 lakh 466 voters in January, 2023. Thus, the number of voters in the district has decreased by 24 thousand in the last one and a quarter year.
He further informed that in Ambala (Reserved) Lok Sabha seat, apart from the above four assembly constituencies of Ambala district, Panchkula of Panchkula district (total voters 2 lakh 33 thousand 353) and Kalka (2 lakh 536) while Sadhaura of Yamunanagar district - reserved (2 lakh 23 thousand 132), Jagadhri (2 lakh 31 thousand 429) Yamunanagar (2 lakh 38 thousand 482) assembly constituencies are also included.
