Union Minister Gurjar flags off e-vehicle rally to promote electric vehicles

Chandigarh, July 13, 2024 - Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar emphasized the importance of adopting electric vehicles for a secure future and economic strength. He flagged off an e-vehicle awareness rally aimed at promoting electric vehicles.
Under the aegis of the District Administration, Faridabad and with the support of Argo EV Smart, an exhibition-cum-road show was organized in the convention hall of HSVP, Faridabad today. Sh. Gurjar inaugurated the event which has been organized to spread awareness about electric vehicles.
Encouraging people to adopt electric vehicles, Gurjar said that global warming is a pressing issue that requires collective efforts and stated that various initiatives have been taken worldwide to combat this crisis, with India making significant progress under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
The power and industry sector has taken remarkable steps towards green hydrogen and electric vehicles, with notable achievements in the power sector towards green energy.The Government of India has set a target to take the country to zero carbon in the coming times, added the Minister.
The Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Sh. Krishan Pal Gurjar said the government has launched various schemes to promote electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers.
With the adoption of new technologies, battery prices are expected to decrease, making electric vehicles more affordable in the future. The government is making efforts to install charging stations as needed, and public cooperation is essential for the swift adoption of electric vehicles.
MLA, Faridabad, Sh. Narendra Gupta stated that there is a need to quickly move towards using electric vehicles given the current circumstances. He pointed out the role of the automobile industry in preventing pollution and providing a safe environment for future generations.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad, Dr. Anand Sharma, and other officers remained present during the occasion.
