Amritsar (Punjab) December 5, 2024- Narain Singh Chaura, who fired at Sukhbir Singh Badal at Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar, was produced in court by the police today. He has been sent to a three-day police remand.
On Wednesday, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal averted an assassination bid, after Narain Singh Chaura, a pro-Khalistan sympathizer opened fire at him outside the Golden Temple in Punjab’s Amritsar, where he was performing penance.
Lawyer Kanwar Mubarak Singh said that the police had sought a seven-day police remand from the court, but the court has given only three days of police remand. It is also worth mentioning that when Narayan Singh Chaura was presented in the court, a woman created a lot of commotion and raised slogans in favor of Narayan Singh Chaura.
