Railway promotes Digital Ticketing through QR Code, UTS on Mobile App
Ferozepur, February 7, 2025 : A special awareness drive was conducted across all major railway stations of the Ferozepur Division to promote digital payments through QR codes and ticket booking via the UTS on Mobile app. Passengers were educated on how they could use QR code-enabled display machines at reservation and unreserved ticket counters to make seamless digital payments for their journey tickets.
As part of this initiative, railway staff assisted passengers in installing the UTS on Mobile app on their phones, enabling them to purchase unreserved journey tickets, platform tickets, and monthly season tickets digitally. This move aims to reduce dependency on cash transactions, making ticket booking easier, faster, and more convenient.
With QR code-based payments, passengers no longer need to worry about cash or exact change. The system ensures secure, transparent, and hassle-free transactions, eliminating the need to stand in long queues and saving valuable time.
The drive was successfully conducted at several key railway stations, including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, Ferozepur Cantt, Beas, Fazilka, Faridkot, Phagwara, Phillaur, Kapurthala, and Moga.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini emphasized that Indian Railways is committed to enhancing digital services for passengers. The adoption of QR code technology and the UTS on Mobile app is a significant step towards a cashless and efficient ticketing system, reducing transaction time and ensuring a smoother travel experience for passengers.
