Himachal CM Sukhu reviews Hamirpur development projects virtually, orders speedy execution and eco-tourism push

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh_, May 19, 2025:Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu chaired a virtual meeting from Shimla today to review various developmental projects in Hamirpur district.
Senior officials from the district joined the meeting virtually, while Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Anirudh Singh attended in person from Shimla.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate the implementation of ongoing projects to ensure their timely completion.
He emphasized the importance of efficiency and accountability in the execution of developmental initiatives.
Focus on Stray Cattle and Farmers' Welfare
To address the issue of stray cattle and provide relief to farmers, CM Sukhu instructed the district administration to identify suitable land for the construction of a cow sanctuary (Gaushala).
He stressed the need for a long-term solution to this persistent problem impacting agriculture and road safety.
Boost to Electric Vehicle Infrastructure
Highlighting the state's commitment to environmental conservation, the Chief Minister directed authorities to identify locations for setting up e-vehicle charging stations along key road stretches—Hamirpur-Ghumarwin, Nadaun-Amb, and Bhota-Una.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to strengthening infrastructure that supports electric mobility in the state.
Push for Eco-Tourism in Hareta
CM Sukhu also reviewed the progress of a major eco-tourism project in Hareta village, Nadaun block, being developed at a cost of ₹7 crore. He urged officials to speed up its implementation.
The project aims to promote sustainable tourism by developing basic infrastructure, grasslands, tree houses for night camping, walking and nature trails, a cafeteria, and a children’s park.
The Chief Minister reiterated his government’s focus on green development, ensuring that ecological balance and economic growth go hand in hand.
