New Delhi, August 7, 2025- Senior Congress leader and Member of Parliament from Chandigarh, Manish Tewari, held a strong protest outside Parliament today against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls being conducted exclusively in Bihar.
Raising serious questions over the timing and intent of the exercise, Shri Tewari termed the revision process as selective, biased, and politically motivated. He pointed out that no such process is being carried out anywhere else in the country, and the exclusive focus on Bihar raises doubts about its fairness and transparency.
“It is deeply concerning that such a revision exercise is being conducted only in Bihar. This selective action casts a serious shadow on its intent. Voter rolls form the foundation of any democratic election, and any manipulation or interference in them strikes at the very soul of democracy,” he said.
Shri Tewari further reiterated that the Congress party is firmly committed to protecting democratic values and will strongly oppose any attempt to interfere with the integrity of the electoral process.
