Kapurthala (Punjab), August 15, 2025: A massive breach in the Beas River embankment near Baupur village in Kapurthala’s Mand area has triggered severe flooding, leaving nearly 15 villages under several feet of water.
Residential areas have been completely inundated, forcing residents to evacuate to safer locations. Thousands of acres of standing crops have been destroyed, adding to the misery of the affected farmers.
The rising water levels have submerged all major roads in the region, cutting off connectivity and hampering relief efforts. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as rescue and evacuation operations continue.
