Sunil Jakhar: PM Modi deeply concerned about Punjab floods, Centre stands with people

Chandigarh, September 7, 2025: Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar said today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is deeply concerned about the flood situation in Punjab and is personally monitoring developments.
Jakhar informed that the Prime Minister will visit Punjab on September 9 to assess the situation on the ground and ensure that people receive maximum relief. “This visit shows the Prime Minister’s commitment to stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Punjab in this hour of crisis,” Jakhar stated.
He further added that Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan had already visited Punjab to take stock of the situation, while two central teams have assessed flood damages and will soon submit their reports to the Centre.
“The Government of India stands firmly with the people of Punjab, and every effort will be made to support them in overcoming this disaster,” Jakhar emphasized.
