Ferozepur, October 1, 2025: Progressive farmer Gurvinder Singh, son of Veer Singh from village Mothanwala in block Guru Har Sahai, has emerged as a role model for farmers not only in Ferozepur but across Punjab. Known as a “guardian of the environment,” he has set a unique example by refusing to burn paddy stubble and instead adopting eco-friendly farming practices.
For several years, Gurvinder Singh has been sowing wheat by incorporating paddy residue into the soil using advanced machinery such as the Happy Seeder and MB Plough. He emphasized that his wheat crops have never suffered due to this practice, and on the contrary, the yield has been excellent. By avoiding stubble burning, he contributes to reducing air pollution while preserving soil fertility.
Highlighting the benefits, Singh said: “When we mix stubble back into the soil, we not only save the environment from pollution but also enrich the fertility of the land. This ensures good harvests and protects the earth for future generations.”
He continues to spread awareness among fellow farmers, urging them to stop burning paddy residue and instead use modern techniques to incorporate it into the soil. Singh believes this sustainable approach is essential to safeguard air, water, and land for the coming generations.
