Moga, October 11, 2025: The Government of Punjab will celebrate the 350th Martyrdom Day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Ji with utmost reverence and devotion. The state government is observing this occasion as a world-class event. Under the leadership of Punjab Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, the Cabinet team today held a meeting with the Moga district administration to review the ongoing preparations for the grand commemorations.
Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains, Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh E.T.O., and Advisor to the Department of Tourism, Shri Deepak Bali, reviewed the arrangements during the meeting held in Moga. They were joined by MLA Moga Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA Bhagha Purana S. Amritpal Singh Sukhanand, MLA Dharamkot S. Davinderjeet Singh Laddi Dhons, Deputy Commissioner Shri Sagar Setia, SSP Shri Ajay Gandhi, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Smt. Charumita, Additional Deputy Commissioner S. Jagvinderjeet Singh Grewal, SDM Sarangpreet Singh, along with other officials from various departments of Moga.
Cabinet Minister Bains stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has been preparing for several months to pay a befitting tribute to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji and his steadfast disciples—Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dyala Ji—who made supreme sacrifices.
During the meeting, S. Bains directed the Deputy Commissioner and other concerned officials to ensure that all arrangements related to infrastructure, sanitation, lighting, accommodation for devotees, traffic, and security should be completed well in advance.
He also emphasized maintaining close coordination with religious institutions and local Gurdwara committees to ensure that all ceremonies are conducted peacefully and reverently. The Education Minister instructed the departments of PWD, Rural Development, Local Government, and Tourism to work in complete coordination to ensure the beautification of Nagar Kirtan routes, repair of roads, improvement of street lighting, sanitation management, and adequate facilities for drinking water and parking. He also reviewed the cleanliness preparations and directed officials to encourage maximum participation of devotees in the Nagar Kirtan and Light & Sound Show.
He said, “It is our duty as sevadars (volunteers) to organize these sacred and historic ceremonies with complete devotion and discipline.”
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, S. Bains stated that the Punjab Government is making every possible effort to make this centenary celebration a memorable one. The sacrifice and teachings of Guru Sahib will be propagated across the world.
He further informed that the series of events will begin from Delhi, where an Ardas will be offered at Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib, followed by a Kirtan Darbar at Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib in the evening. From November 1 to November 18, Light and Sound Shows will be organized in all districts of Punjab. A magnificent show will also be held in Moga, depicting the divine life and supreme martyrdom of Guru Sahib.
In addition, four Nagar Kirtans will be organized. The first Nagar Kirtan will commence on November 18 in Srinagar. On November 19, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, along with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, saints, and spiritual leaders, the Nagar Kirtan will begin from Srinagar, pass through Jammu and Pathankot, and reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22.
The second Nagar Kirtan will start on November 20 from Gurdaspur, passing through Batala, Baba Bakala, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Phagwara, and Nawanshahr, before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The third Nagar Kirtan will begin from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib and will pass through Bathinda, Sangrur, Patiala, and Mohali before reaching Sri Anandpur Sahib.
The fourth Nagar Kirtan will commence on November 20 from Faridkot at 8 a.m. from the holy shrine of Baba Farid Ji, passing through Ferozepur and Moga, and then proceeding to Sri Anandpur Sahib. All four Nagar Kirtans will converge at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. From November 23 to 25, world-level events will be held at Sri Anandpur Sahib.
On November 23, an Interfaith Conference (Sarv Dharam Sammelan) will take place, followed by Kirtan Darbars each evening for three days. The entire town of Sri Anandpur Sahib will be illuminated, and drone shows will also be organized on all three days. On November 25, a special congregation will be held for Sarbat Da Bhala (welfare of all).
In conclusion, S. Harjot Singh Bains said that the sacred commemorations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar Sahib Ji’s martyrdom will continue to inspire future generations with Guru Ji’s eternal message of peace, compassion, and religious freedom.
He added that the Punjab Government is working diligently to ensure that every devotee experiences a unique blend of spirituality and excellent administrative management during these historic celebrations.
