Haryana CM Saini pays tribute to Martyr Kushal Singh Dahiya, announces major development initiatives

Chandigarh, November 16, 2025: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday called upon the youth to imbibe the values of courage, duty, and sacrifice embodied by Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya, as the state marked the 350th martyrdom year of the legendary hero.
Addressing a state-level commemorative programme in Rai, Sonipat, the Chief Minister said that the supreme sacrifice of Kushal Singh Dahiya—who gave his own head to ensure the safe passage of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s sacred head to Anandpur Sahib—remains etched in golden letters in Indian history.
Saini said the objective of organising such programmes is to ensure that future generations draw inspiration from Dahiya’s life, strengthening their devotion toward religion, society, and the nation.

Key Announcements in Honour of the Martyr
The Chief Minister made several developmental announcements dedicated to preserving the legacy of Kushal Singh Dahiya:
- The road from GT Road to Badkhalsa (Naggal Kalan to Manauli) will be renamed Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya Marg.
- The Badkhalsa Community Centre will be named after Amar Shaheed Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya.
- The Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya Shahidi Smarak in Badkhalsa will be renovated.
- A Skill Development Park for women and youth will be set up in Deepalpur village at a cost of ₹1 crore.
- A new community centre worth ₹65 lakh will be built in Deepalpur.
- A grant of ₹31 lakh will be provided for the Badkhalsa Memorial.
- 25 km of roads in Rai constituency will be paved under the Khet-Khalihan Yojana.
- Elevation of the Malikpur–Tajpur road and repair work on the Biswa Mill–Barot Chowki route.
- Beautification and expansion of village ponds through the Pond Development Authority.
- An Urban Health Centre in Kundli (subject to land availability).
- Drinking water supply for Bahalgarh via the Jajal rainywell connection.
- Construction of an STP in Khevda village.
“Land of Haryana Has Always Been a Cradle of Courage”
Saini said Haryana has historically been a land of bravery—from the battlefield of Kurukshetra to the sacrifices of Sikh Gurus and countless martyrs. He emphasised that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s message of protecting religious freedom continues to inspire people even today.
Centre Working to Promote India’s Spiritual Legacy: CM
The Chief Minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Central Government has taken significant steps to honour Sikh heritage and India’s spiritual traditions. He highlighted national-level celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
He informed that Haryana is organising four Nagar Kirtan Yatras across the state, which will conclude in Kurukshetra on November 24. A grand ceremony, to be attended by the Prime Minister, will be held on November 25.
Dhanda: Dahiya’s Sacrifice Symbol of Courage and Truth
Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, while paying tributes, said that Sonipat is proud to be the birthplace of a hero whose sacrifice safeguarded religious values, culture, and identity. He said both Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and Kushal Singh Dahiya exemplify devotion to truth and service to humanity.

Senior leaders including BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik, MLA Krishna Gahlawat, Cabinet Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, MPs Arvind Sharma and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala, several MLAs, and members of the Dada Kushal Singh Dahiya Samiti attended the programme.
