Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab), December 23, 2025: Ahead of the annual Shaheedi Sabha, Punjab Police have put in place extensive security and traffic arrangements in Fatehgarh Sahib, with more than 3,400 police personnel deployed to manage the three-day event beginning December 25.
Special Director General of Police (Law and Order) Arpit Shukla on Tuesday visited Fatehgarh Sahib to review preparations and assess ground-level arrangements for the congregation, which commemorates the martyrdom of Chotey Sahibzadas Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, the younger sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.
The Shaheedi Sabha will be held from December 25 to December 27, 2025, and is expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across the country and abroad. The area has been divided into six sectors, with security overseen by six SP-rank officers and 24 DSP-rank officers, officials said.
Police authorities have identified 22 parking locations, from where shuttle bus services will operate to Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib to ease congestion. For traffic management, the police have coordinated with Google for real-time geo-tagging of parking areas, while signboards have been installed along key routes.
An integrated control room has been set up, along with six help desks providing police assistance, medical aid, and fire services. To monitor crowd movement, traffic flow, and parking, the police are using six drones and around 300 CCTV cameras.
Officials said additional measures include the use of reflector stickers on tractor-trolleys to reduce the risk of accidents during foggy conditions. Security teams will also keep watch for any anti-social activity during the event.
Senior police officers, including DIG Ropar Range Nanak Singh and SSP Fatehgarh Sahib Shubham Aggarwal, were present during the review.
