ANTF Ferozepur seizes 3.132 kg heroin; Annual recoveries cross 118 kg mark in 2025
FEROZEPUR, December 25, 2025: In a significant breakthrough for the Punjab Government’s ongoing anti-drug crusade, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Ferozepur Range, apprehended two drug smugglers and seized 3.132 kg of heroin. This latest operation underscores a high-impact year for the unit, with total heroin recoveries in 2025 now exceeding 118 kg.

Acting on intelligence as part of an intensified drive to dismantle trafficking networks, the STF team intercepted two individuals identified as Arshdeep Singh, alias Arsh (20), a resident of Ladhuwala Hittar, and Sukhchain Singh (19) of Hazara Ram Singh Wala. Both accused hail from the Jalalabad area in Fazilka district.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 327 (dated 25-12-2025) at the ANTF Police Station, Ferozepur, under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Investigations revealed that Arshdeep Singh is a repeat offender. He was already wanted by the ANTF SAS Nagar in connection with FIR No. 304 (dated 23-11-2025), which involved a massive seizure of 4.1 kg of heroin. Police are currently working to trace the backward and forward linkages of the duo to identify the larger kingpins in the supply chain.
The year 2025 has proven to be a landmark period for the ANTF Ferozepur Range in its battle against the narcotics trade. According to official data, the task force successfully registered 68 cases and arrested 125 individuals involved in smuggling activities. The scale of the crackdown is most evident in the massive recovery of 118.967 kg of heroin, alongside an additional 6.510 kg of opium seized in related operations, effectively removing a substantial volume of contraband from the streets.
Beyond narcotics, the ANTF has targeted the logistical and financial infrastructure of drug syndicates. Throughout the year, officials impounded 37 vehicles used for trafficking and confiscated over 33,780 habit-forming tablets. In a significant blow to the "narco-economy," the police also recovered ₹21.15 lakh in drug money, which is believed to be the proceeds of illegal sales.
"The Punjab Police remains steadfast in its commitment to completely eliminating the drug menace from the state," stated Gurinderbir Singh, AIG, ANTF. "Our teams are working tirelessly to break the backbone of these trafficking syndicates through strict enforcement and continuous surveillance."
