Tarn Taran (Punjab), February 9, 2026: Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Sunday asserted that creating better employment opportunities for youth is the most effective way to curb the growing menace of drug abuse in the state.
He was addressing a meeting with members of Village Defence Committees at village Seron in Tarn Taran district. Punjab Cabinet Minister Shri Laljit Singh Bhullar was also present on the occasion.
Governor Kataria said that a neighbouring country is attempting to destabilise Punjab by smuggling drugs and weapons, but added that such conspiracies are being given a strong and befitting response by the security agencies.
