Maharastra, March 3,2026: During the 350th martyrdom anniversary commemorations held in Maharashtra, a significant statement on religious conversions in Punjab drew national attention.
Addressing the gathering, Jathedar Baba Harnam Singh Ji Dhuma raised concerns over the rising incidents of religious conversions in Punjab.
Responding from the stage, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated unequivocally that the supreme sacrifice of Guru Tegh Bahadur continues to inspire people to remain steadfast in their faith.
He emphasized that preventing forced or inducement-based religious conversions on the sacred land of Punjab is the responsibility of the government. Shah’s remarks were seen as a strong assurance from the Centre regarding the issue.
