CM Mann to pay tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev on March 23 at Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala
Ferozepur, March 16, 2026: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will pay tributes to the martyrs on March 23 at the Martyrs Memorial Hussainiwala on the martyrdom anniversary of Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar. The information was shared by Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma during a meeting held with officials of various departments to review preparations for the state-level Shaheedi Samagam.
DC said that, as every year, the martyrdom day of the great freedom fighters will be observed with deep respect and patriotic fervour at the memorial. A large number of people from across the region are expected to visit the memorial to pay floral tributes to the martyrs.
Reviewing the arrangements for the event, the DC issued necessary directions to officials of concerned departments to ensure smooth organisation of the programme, especially in view of the Chief Minister’s visit. She instructed officials to perform their assigned duties with dedication and responsibility.
Officials were directed to ensure proper security arrangements, deployment of medical teams, ambulance services, traffic regulation, parking facilities, drinking water arrangements, sanitation, toilets and decoration of major junctions. Directions were also issued to establish a control room at the venue to assist visitors coming to pay tributes at the memorial.
DC further asked all departments to complete their respective preparations well in advance so that no inconvenience is faced during the event. She also emphasised that any negligence in the arrangements would not be tolerated and directed officials to ensure foolproof security.
Among those present in the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Amandeep Kaur, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Lindia, SDM Ferozepur Abhishek Sharma, RTA Tushita Gulati, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajiv Parashar, SP (H) Dharmveer Singh, DDPO Narbhinder Singh, DMO Jashandeep Singh and other officials.
