Patiala, May 24:
Manisha Rana, the newly appointed Managing Director of Pepsu Road Transport Corporation (PRTC), has begun a series of initiatives aimed at expediting operations and modernizing the organization.
As part of these efforts, she convened a meeting with officials from the Punjab Energy Development Agency, including District Manager Manav Jindal, to discuss the proposed installation of solar rooftop plants across various PRTC facilities.
During the meeting, it was revealed that PRTC has submitted a proposal to establish solar rooftop plants with a total capacity of 785 kW at bus stands, workshops, and the corporation's head office. Once implemented, this project is anticipated to save PRTC approximately Rs 97 lakh annually on electricity costs
After reviewing the project update, Manisha Rana directed the Punjab Energy Development Agency to promptly initiate the installation process so that the corporation could begin capitalizing on reduced energy expenses without delay.
Agency officials indicated that the project can be completed within three months once PRTC deposits the requisite funds. The Managing Director assured attendees that the initial payment would be released soon and instructed officials to expedite all necessary formalities.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Jatinderpal Singh and others involved in the project.
