Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Pakistan), September 22, 2025: At least 30 people, including women and children, were killed in an airstrike carried out by the Pakistan Air Force in Tirah Valley’s Matre Dara village around 2 a.m. on Sunday night. The Pakistani military described the operation as an “anti-terror action.”
According to eyewitnesses, JF-17 fighter jets dropped nearly eight LS-6 category bombs, causing massive destruction to homes and property. Villagers said they were asleep when they first heard the sound of aircraft, followed by powerful explosions that shook the area.
Authorities claimed the strikes targeted militants, but local residents reported that ordinary civilians bore the brunt of the attack. More than 20 people were injured, and rescue operations by local police and army units are currently underway.
The village remains in mourning as families grieve the heavy loss of life.
