New Zealand: Locals perform Haka to oppose Nagar Kirtan; Displays Banner- This Is NZ and Not India ( Watch Video )

New Zealand, December 21, 2025: Local youngsters performed Haka dance to oppose Nagar Kirtan procession in South Auckland.
This Nagar Kirtan had started from Gurdwara Nanaksar Thath Ishar Darbar Manuriva and was returning back to Gurdwara Sahib when 30 to 35 local youth came in front of Nagar Kirtan and performed Haka dance to stop it from going further. These protesters were carrying placards with ‘This is New Zealand not India’ written on them.

Local police stepped in to defuse the situation and Nagar Kirtan returned back to Gurdwara Sahib when these youth stepped aside later. Local Sikh leaders were also present on the occasion. One Sunny Singh disclosed that situation was handled very carefully.


What is Haka dance ?
Haka dance is a local dance performed by Tribal Maori people during which they move their bodies aggressively. This is also called war dance.
It is worth mentioning here that a lady Member Parliament had performed Haka in Parliament to protest against a bill brought by the government.
