In a significant development in the long-running and sensitive case involving Indian Sikh pilgrim Sarbjeet Kaur, who later adopted the name Noor Hussain after embracing Islam and marrying a Pakistani national, both she and her husband Nasir Hussain have been arrested in Pakistan’s Nankana Sahib district. Official sources indicate that deportation proceedings have now been initiated.
The development has been reported by senior Lahore-based journalist Ali Imran Chatha in the Pakistani newspaper Nazarana Times.
According to an official statement attributed to Ramesh Singh Arora, President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) and Punjab Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs, the arrests were made following specific and actionable intelligence inputs.

Sources said the Intelligence Bureau Division (IBD), Nankana Sahib, received information regarding the presence of the couple in Village Pehre Wali. Acting swiftly, an IBD team conducted a raid at the location and successfully apprehended Sarbjeet Kaur and Nasir Hussain.
Subsequently, officials from Police Station Saddar, Nankana Sahib, were informed. The police took both individuals into custody and transported them to the police station, where they are currently being held.
Interrogation Reveals Background
During a joint interrogation by police and intelligence officials, several details emerged. Authorities stated that Sarbjeet Kaur and Nasir Hussain reportedly developed an online relationship through TikTok in 2016. The couple had allegedly applied for visas on multiple occasions in the past, but their applications were rejected due to legal and procedural reasons.
Officials further claimed that on November 4, 2025, Nasir Hussain visited Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib, from where he allegedly left with Sarbjeet Kaur and took her to his native areas in Farooqabad and Burj Attari.
