Canada's famous radio host Harjinder Thind honored with Jagdev Singh Jassowal Memorial Award

Canada, April 30, 2023: Harjinder Thind, the leading presenter of radio broadcasting in Canada for the last 40 years, was honored with Jagdev Singh Jassowal Memorial Award on the occasion of the birthday celebration of Jagdev Singh Jassowal.
Praising Harjinder Singh Thind, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that Harjinder is our contemporary student and all of us have been studying in Government College at the same time.
Harjinder Thind a native of Punjabi poet Jarnail Singh Arshi's village Rachhin (near Ahmedgarh), has been a student at Gargi in MA Theater and in 1976 he acted in the short film "Kala Suraj" based on Amrita Pritam's anti-drug story. He played the protagonist. After moving to Canada, he adopted radio broadcasting and took it to heights. Today his name is a household name. His acting in Harbhajan Mann's film "Jee Aayan Nu" was also praised.
Krishan Kumar Bawa, Pargat Singh Grewal, and Malkit Singh Dakha also hailed Harjinder Thind as the cultural ambassador of Punjab in foreign countries.
Praising Thind, Raghubir Singh Ghun said to carry forward the mission of Jagdev Singh Jassowal ji, the foundation should give this award every year on his birthday to artists, intellectuals, and writers of national and international fame.
He said Jassowal and his little brother Inderjit Singh Grewal shared many things about the moments spent with him.Thanking Harjinder Singh Thind said that Jagdev Singh Jassowal was a talented politician, cultural figure and visionary.
"He started the Mohan Singh Mela not only in Punjab from 1978 but also in Surrey (Canada) by establishing the Prof. Mohan Singh Memorial Foundation under the leadership of Sahib Singh Thind and starting the "Gadri Babaian Da Mela" movement. After this, the movement of fairs started in the whole of Canada. The turban received by Mohan Singh Foundation will always give me a sense of responsibility,"he added.
