Karachi (Pakistan), May 24, 2024 Nasrullah Gadani, a local journalist in Sindhi, who was gravely hurt in a gun attack a few days prior, passed away on Friday morning in a Karachi hospital.
On Tuesday, Gadani was attacked by unknown assailants near Mirpur Mathelo, Ghotki district which left him with serious gunshot wounds.
As per media reports, Nasrullah Gadani was traveling from his house to the Mirpur Mathelo Press Club when the incident happened. At Jarwar Road close to Deen Shah, armed men in a car started shooting at the journalist and fled the scene.
Condemning the incident, Pakistan journalist Hamid Mir said that some powerful men silenced Nasrullah Gadani.
"Another journalist Nasrullah Gaddani martyred in the line of duty. Look at his reporting style. He highlighted civic problems of Sindh very courageously and that’s why he was arrested again and again. Finally powerful people silenced him. Sindh police was his biggest enemy," he wrote on X.
