Khalsa Sajna Diwas Recorded in US Congress, a first in history
Washington DC, April 10, 2021: A matter of great pride for the nation, that in the first session of the 117th Congress, on April 10, 2021, Congressman Chairman Richard E Neal of the Finance Committee recorded the Khalsa Sajna Diwas in the Congregational Record. Neal is the US Representative representing Massachusset’s 1st Congressional District.
Khalsa Sajna Diwas is celebrated all over the world with great fanfare. On April 13, 1699, Dhan Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj made the Khalsa a separate Panth. By administering Amrit, he made the entire nation a saint and a soldier who fought for the oppressed against oppression.
It is a matter of great pride for the Sikh nation today that the world is recognizing the uniqueness of the Khalsa. Understanding the importance of the Khalsa Sajna Diwas, the joyous occasion was inserted into the Congressional Record of U. S. Congress. Neal recognized the contributions of Sikh Americans starting in the 19th century. The entire Panth is bowing to the extremist forces in the USA.
A statement released by World Sikh Parliament claimed that these great efforts have been made possible by Bhai Himmat Singh, the Coordinator of the World Sikh Parliament, and Bhai Gurnindar Singh Dhaliwal, Treasure of America’s Region, who have been in frequent meetings with US Congressmen.
In a meeting with Richard E Neal Chairman Committee on Ways and Means, appraised the World Sikh Parliament and the importance of Khalsa Sajna Diwas. World Sikh Parliament has thanked Neal for his efforts to recognize Khalsa Sajna Diwas, being a very important occasion in Sikh calendar.
