Players of the winning MRSPTU Cricket team in jubilant mood in Bathinda.
BATHINDA, FEBRUARY 22, 2019: An Inter-College Cricket tournament (Men) and Inter-College Volleyball (Men/Women) Competition 2018-19 was organised at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) Bathinda.
In inter-College cricket tournament, host MRSPTU campus team won the title by defeating the Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology, Deon (Bathinda) by 66 runs. While PIT, Moga secured third place by defeating BGC, Sardulgarh.
Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by MRSPTU, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar in the presence of Registrar Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal and Director, Sports and Youth Welfare, Bhupinderpal Singh Dhot.
In earlier matches, Punjab Institute of Technology (PIT), Moga, defeated PIT Rajpura by thin margin of one run. Whereas in another match, MRSPTU team defeated BGC, Sardulgarh by 160 runs. While PIT, Moga won by 32 runs from Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology, Deon (Bathinda).
Similarly, In Volleyball (Men) category, host MRSPTU Team won gold medal and Baba Farid College of Engineering and Technology (BFCET), Deon secured silver medal, whereas Punjab Institute of Technology, Moga secured third position.
Likewise in Volleyball (Women) category, host MRSPTU Team won first position and Alpine Institute of Information Technology (AIIT), Rode (Moga) team secured second place. While BFCET, Deon, third position.
Prof. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and Dr. Jasbir Singh Hundal congratulated the winning students and also appreciated the efforts of the sports department of the University.
