As the unemployment rate among graduates has been rising steadily since mid-2017, according to a new analysis by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), colleges and universities need to come up with a mechanism to create ‘Job readiness’ amongst these students. Suyash Saurabh Singh, a 22 year old Computer science Engineering student of Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran, who has recently cracked the 7th hardest recruitment process in the world, shares some useful interview tips for his fellow friends. “I went through a rigorous interview consisting of 4 personal interview rounds, 1 aptitude and 1 case study test conducted by 12th most desired company in the world to work with, which is, ZS Associate” says Suyash, who is also an International certified life coach.
“In order to get through an interview process, you need to work on building your analytical skills and business acumen. There are two forms of preparation; short term and long term preparation. In the short term process you need to know the values of the company and practice mapping them to your competencies. Conform to the image that they have in mind of their future employees. Moreover, take initiative in an interview by asking them questions which you feel that needs to be discussed. While, in the long term preparation, learn the skills that are trending in the job market, they are a key to create a profound career. One such skill which is apart from the academics is ‘Authenticity towards own self’, this demands you to try looking at the problems of the world, and then building solutions for them” shares the boy from Varanasi, Up.
