First Shramik Special Train moves from J&K Katra to Chhatarpur (MP)
Ferozepur, May 19, 2020: The first Shramik Special Train moved from Jammu and Kashmir Katra to Chhatarpur (MP) with 1,184 passengers.
The migrant workers from Punjab are moving to their home town/states in view of the closing down of work in the state due to the corona pandemic.
DRM Ferozepur, Rajesh Aggarwal informed that for the arrival of Shramik trains, Udhamplur hs been fixed in Kashmir Province and up to May 19, a total of 11 Shramik special trains have arrived from UP, MP, Delhi, Goa and Tamil Nadu.
So far, 20,000 passengers have moved in and out to their home stations.
Apart from this, a train between Delhi-Jammu – 02425/26 Special Rajdhani – is being run on a daily basis and ticket booking is through the IRCTS website.
Jammu and Kashmir province comes under Ferozepur Division and as of now, more than 200 Sharmik special trains have been operated with shifting of around 2.13 lakh migrant workers.
