Government to organize online job fairs keeping in view of COVID cases' spike: Captain Amarinder Singh
In response to query by a Ferozepur resident Chief Minister reinforced government's commitment to bring job opportunities to youth inspite the pandemic
Replying to the query of Jimmy Kamboj, a Ferozepur resident during 12th edition of AskCaptain Facebook Live, Chief Minister said that due to surge in Covid cases, the government is not in the position of holding job fairs in the colleges or other educational institutions adding he said that to address this problem, the government is going to hold online job fairs from the next month. He said the job fair would ensure that youth becomes self-reliant by opening new vistas of employment for them.
Chief Minister also told that the job fair aims at making the youth an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the state by offering employment opportunities to them. He further added that if the situation improves, the physical job fairs would resume but till then we have to take care of safety precautions and avoid gatherings.
Captain Amarinder Singh also made other announcements during today’s edition of #AskCaptain. He also announced a cash prize of Rs. 5100 each to 335 students who have scored over 98% in Class XII. Congratulating the government schools for outscoring private schools again this year, the Chief Minister pointed out that the 94.32% pass percentage in government schools is the highest ever in the School Board history. Giving credit to the teachers, staff, and students who worked hard despite the adversaries triggered by the COVID situation, the Chief Minister extended his thanks to them all.
Once again, calling upon all the Punjabis to adhere to safety precautions in the fight against Corona Virus, the Chief Minister said that it was need of the hour that we practice norms like social distancing, wearing masks, washing hands etc. to keep this disease at bay. He said that to make people follow these norms, the penalty rates were increased earlier.
