4th International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology organised by CGC Landran

The Departments of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (IT), CEC-CGC Landran organised the 4th International Conference on Computational Methods in Science & Technology (ICCMST-2024) today. The two-day event underscores CGC’s tireless efforts to foster interdisciplinary research and innovation as well as promoting collaborative research initiatives in the field of Science & Technology. A total of 759 paper submissions were received for the conference. Following a rigorous peer review process, 167 papers were selected for presentation. The conference attracted over 350 participants on the first day, including 15 eminent personalities, set to engage in enriching discussions and presentations over the two days, both in person and virtually. In addition to the conference proceedings, a souvenir showcasing the research contributions was also released by the distinguished guests.
The inaugural ceremony of the conference was graced by the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Susheel Mittal, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, IKGPTU, Jalandhar, as the chief guest, Prof. (Dr.) Divya Bansal, Professor (CSE) and Head (Cyber Security Research Centre) at Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh (Deemed to be University), as the guest of honour and Prof. (Dr.) Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director of the National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, who joined the event virtually. Dr. P.N. Hrisheekesha, Campus Director, CGC Landran, along with Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Executive Director (Engineering), and Dr. Ruchi Singla, Director R&D, CGC Landran, extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and participants. Additionally, eminent keynote speakers, including Prof. (Dr.) Marek Bolanowski from Rzeszow University of Technology, Poland, and Prof. (Dr.) Daniel D. Dasig Jr. from De La Salle University, Philippines, shared their insights and expertise on cutting-edge research topics via virtual mode.
The proceedings of ICCMST-2024 will be published in Scopus-indexed Series by Taylor & Francis (CRC Press), further enhancing the visibility and impact of the research outcomes.
Speaking at the inauguration, Dr. Susheel Mittal, Vice-Chancellor of IKGPTU, commended CGC Landran for organizing the conference and emphasized the importance of aligning technical education with industry requirements. He encouraged students to embrace innovation and strive for solutions to societal challenges. He reiterated IKGPTU's commitment towards supporting all the technical education colleges in their efforts towards introducing industry training in the course curriculum thereby significantly bridging the industry-academia gap. In his closing remarks, he urged the students to believe in the power of hard work.
In her address, Dr. Divya Bansal urged students to cultivate a growth mindset and emphasized the value of continuous learning and ethical innovation, which will help them become invaluable assets to any industry they choose to work in. Dr. Bansal encouraged the students to seek out innovative, ethical, and sustainable ideas also emphasizing the importance of embracing failures as learning opportunities. She further urged them for active participation in conferences as a means to broaden their knowledge and network with peers in the education sector.
