Anti-farmer’s Bills will not be allowed to be implement at any cost: MLA Awla
Massive farmers’ protest rally on more than 1,000 tractors at Jalalabad against Central Agri. Bills
Jalalabad, September 26, 2020: In protest against passing of the three anti-farmers Bills, to express resentment and strongly oppose the decision of Centre, a massive farmers’ protest rally on more than 1,000 tractors was organized at Jalalabad led by Raminder Singh Awla, MLA.
Former Member Parliament Sher Singh Ghubaya, Congress District Executive President Ranjam Kamra, District Planning Board Chairman Hans Raj Jason, Constituency Abohar Incharge Sandeep Jakhar, Kisan Union Ekta Ugraha District Vice President Gurwinder Singh Mannewala were present on the occasion become part of Tractor Farmers Rally which was inaugurated by MLA Raminder Awla amidst chanting slogans in favor of farmers and against Modi government.
Talking to the media, MLA Raminder Awla said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh and State President Sunil Kumar Jakhar, the tractor farmers were protesting against the Agriculture Bill brought by the NDA government to take the fight for the rights of the state farmers to the Center.
Apart from a large number of farmers, laborers, artisans and other professionals, the Congress workers have taken part in proving that the fatal decision of the Center will not be allowed to be implemented at any cost.
MLA Awla said that Harsimrat Kaur Badal was part of the Cabinet when the Agriculture Bill was introduced in the Cabinet by the Center and the issue was discussed for three consecutive months and she agreed to pass the Bill. But the entire Congress leadership of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and Sunil Kumar Jakhar passed a resolution opposing the bill and rejecting it.
Harsimrat Badal later on resigned, on seeing the massive protest by the farmers, which is merely a drama. Rather, there should have been a protest and alliance withdrawn, which is still intact.
Awla in a letter written by Paramjit Singh Sindhwa, former political advisor to Sukhbir Badal havemade it clear that the interest of the Badal family was not for the benefit of the farmers and common man but for the maintenance of family politics.
Awla said that Capt. Amarinder Singh has always taken tough decisions to protect the interests of Punjab whether it was the issue of Punjab waters or the decision taken against the Farmers Agriculture Bill. Congress party has done its duty for the rights of farmers.
He said that people of Punjab have always saved the country from the onslaught of external forces and this brave community knows how to assert its rights. Therefore, the Central Government should reconsider this bill and rollback the Agriculture Bill.
Awla also made an appeal to the President of our country not to sign the Bills send the same back to the House for discussion to withdraw the same in the interest of the farmers.
