Three Independent candidates file nomination for Lok Sabha election in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 7, 2024: With the start of filing nominations for Lok Sabha Elections, on the first day today, three Independent candidates filed nominations, as per the election schedule released by the Election Commission of India, in Lok Sabha Constituency-10, said Rajesh Dhiman, RO-cum-DC.
RO Lok Sabha Constituency 10 Ferozepur, Rajesh Dhiman said that on the first day of filing nominations for the Lok Sabha elections, 3 candidates Arvinder Singh, Fouji Angrez Singh and Manpreet Kaur submitted their nomination papers. He said that the time for filing nominations is from 11 am to 3 pm and the last date for filing nomination papers is 14 May 2024.
He further said that this time in the Lok Sabha elections the Election Commission of India has clear instructions that if any political party or its representative violate the Model Code of Conduct, strict action will be taken against him. He said that nomination papers can be submitted till May 14, 2024. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be May 15 and nominations of return will be till May 17. The voting date is June 1 2024 and counting Will be on June 4, 2024.
Emphasizing the representatives of political parties, he said, compliance with the Mode Code of Conduct should be ensured. He said that Lord Parashuram Jayanti ( May 10, 2024) is not a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, of 1881. Therefore, on May 10, 2024, the nomination letter to the Returning Officer can be filled. He further informed that May 11, 2024, will be the second Saturday and May 12, 2024, will be a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, of 1881. Therefore, nomination papers will not be able to be filled during these two days.
