Chandigarh, April 4 : Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal today asked Congress Amritsar candidate Capt Amarinder Singh not to beat around the bush and tell the people of the State his track record as a legislator as well as give a list of his visits to the holy city if any. In a statement here, the SAD President said Capt Singh seemed to suffer from selective amnesia whenever he was asked about his Vidhan Sabha attendance record or about how many times he had visited Amritsar in the recent past or even during his term as chief minister of the State. \"Capt Singh apparently has a reason for feeling shy about his attendance record in the Vidhan Sabha\", the SAD President said adding during the last nearly two years the Congress leader had attended only three out of the 42 Vidhan Sabha sessions. \"This is the seriousness he has given to representing the Patiala assembly seat\", Mr Badal said adding \"the people can judge for themselves how much he will come to Amritsar post April 30 once the votes were polled\". Speaking about Capt Singh\'s past track record, the SAD President said the Congress leader was in the habit of leaving his constituents in the lurch. \"In 1992 Capt Singh was elected un opposed from Samana assembly constituency but never raised a single issue about its residents in the Vidhan Sabha. This was because he attended the Vidhan Sabha session only twice during the five year period\", he added. \"Capt Singh\'s track record of visiting Amritsar is equally worse\", the SAD President said adding the Congress leader was seen in Amritsar on rare occasions even during his days as chief minister of the State. \"He has not bothered to come to Amritsar during the last nearly two years\", Mr Badal said adding \"In direct contrast me as well as chief minister Parkash Singh Badal not only visit Amritsar regularly but are also monitoring and reviewing the development of the holy city personally on a monthly basis\". The SAD President said even now Capt Singh did not seem serious about contesting the parliamentary poll and only seemed to be going through the motions to please the party high command which had forced him to contest the elections. He said Capt Singh\'s campaign was also suffering from practical problems. \"In direct contrast to the myth he has created about himself in the media, the truth is that his supporters are unable to organise any rally for him in the rural areas despite several attempts\". He said this had demoralised the \"maharaja\" who had disappeared from Amritsar for four days due to this reason. Meanwhile Badal appealed to the SAD-BJP rank and file to give a final push to Capt Amarinder Singh in the next few days to make him see the light of day. \"Capt Singh has made a profession of trying to fool everybody with false promises and bluster. However this time he should be given such a lesson that he will never try to mislead the people of the holy city again\", the SAD President added.
