People thronged into the venue in large numbers
Bathinda: 22 October, 2016: The rural and urban masses of the district along with families today flocked the Daadi Poti Park to mark their presence in the SARAS Mela. It was a big day for the organisers as the people were spilling over into the venue in big numbers today. Only three days has been left in the wrapping up of SARAS 2016. Some high dignitary is likely to preside over finale function of the SARAS Mela on 25th October.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Shena Aggarwal, the chief architect of the mega event was present on the venue along with her team of officials. During the evening session, today main attraction was Punjabi folk singer Sherry Mann. According to an approximate estimate, more than 75000 tickets were sold on all the four the ticket counters today. There was no space for even standing in the 5 acre area marked for the SARAS event during the evening session.
Delighted over the huge participation, Shena Aggarwal said “I am thankful to my team of officials for doing wonderful job. We are planning to approach some high dignitary to preside over the final day of the event .i.e. 25th October. We will let you know by tomorrow evening”.
Whole family of Shena Aggarwal were also present on the venue today to provide morale boost to her. Her father Dr Chander Kumar Aggarwal & mother Pinky Aggarwal along with father –in-law N.K Aggarwal & Krishna Aggarwal were seen taking a round of the stalls. They were in a festive mood, bearing in mind the mammoth success of the event being handled by Shena Aggarwal.
Commenting on the success of event, Dr Chander Aggarwal “Though, it is a challenging job to handle such a big event, but we were confident, that Shena will handle this event in a meaningful manner. When she (Shena) pin points some target, she never looks back, go ahead and meet the success”.
Her father-in-law, N.K Aggarwal also echoed same observations. He said “Shena has proved her intelligence by handling such an event, where people of different communities from all over India participated. She had done great job by bringing all of them on one platform. This Mela is a really a good effort to promote our culture, all people should come forward to see such events he added.
Sherry Mann Punjabi folk singer enthralled the audience with his songs. More than 15000 (thousand) people most of them youth listened his songs in an open auditorium earmarked for theatre artists.
